Kelly is a New York-based actor, writer and producer with more than 25 years of work in TV, film and theatre. Recent on-screen   appearances include Blue Bloods (CBS), The Plot Against America (HBO) and Godfather of Harlem (EPIX) as well as the films Private Life and The Post.

His first venture as writer and producer is the narrative short film, Touchscreen. The three-time Jury Prize Winner (Anchorage International Film Festival, Santa Fe Film Festival, Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival) and Audience Award Winner (Out on Film: Atlanta LGBT Film Festival) is an official selection of more than 20 film festivals.

Kelly is an associate producer of Olympia, the  documentary feature film on Academy Award-winning actress Olympia Dukakis. He is also a producer on the forthcoming documentary feature Yankee Restraint and is currently developing a narrative series.
